
King Norodom Sihamoni will join a great many other separated visitors today in Tokyo as Japanese Emperor Naruhito officially broadcasts his enthronement.
Sovereign Naruhito succeeded his dad Akihito on May 1 after the last ruled for three decades, yet a service for his enthronement will just happen today.
King Sihamoni left the Kingdom the previous morning. He was seen off by Prime Minister Hun Sen, National Assembly President Heng Samrin and Senate President Say Chhum.
On Sunday, the King said he will be in Japan until Thursday and that Mr Chhum will fill in as acting Head of State.
"During my nonattendance, Senate President Say Chhum will go about as acting Head of State of the Kingdom of Cambodia," King Sihamoni said.
As indicated by Nikkei Asian Review, King Sihamoni is one of 2,000 visitors, including 400 heads of state, welcomed to go to an illustrious function for Emperor Naruhito's enthronement today.
As indicated by the Japanese Foreign Ministry, King Sihamoni was welcomed alongside the United Kingdom's Prince Charles, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan and Myanmar State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi.
The connection among Cambodian and Japanese illustrious families have stayed close over the years.In 2010, King Sihamoni met with then Emperor Akihito and afterward Empress Michiko during an official visit to Japan.
In April, King Sihamoni invested energy in Tokyo to go to an International Buddhist Day festivity and an introduction service for the Nalanda Mahavihara World Buddhist University.
In May, at that point Japanese Ambassador Hidehisa Horinouchi noticed that ties between the two regal families started in 1953 with the late King Norodom Sihanouk.
"From that point forward, the two families have supported their kinship," Mr Hidehisa said.
